Penfolds Barossa Valley is located in the heart of the Barossa Valley – one of Australia's most renowned wine regions. Built in 1911 to expand beyond Magill, it became the focal point of Penfolds business in the 1970s.
Penfolds has evolved an approach to winemaking that has had a profound effect on the Australian wine industry. The concept of multi-region blending is a feature of the Penfolds house style. It is the culmination of more than half a century of winemaking practice initiated by Max Schubert and subsequently refined by Don Ditter, John Duval and Peter Gago. The Penfolds style is about highly defined fruit aromas, ripe tannins, richness, power and concentration.
Founded by Dr Christopher Rawson Penfold and his wife Mary in 1844, just eight years after the settlement of Adelaide, today Penfolds is Australia's best known wine brand. Few can match Penfolds reputation for quality at every price level.
