Wine

Penfolds Bin 170 Kalimna Shiraz was created in 1973 as an experiment, sourced from the 19th century Kalimna Vineyard in the Barossa Valley.

Entirely Shiraz, all the grapes are picked from Block 3C, a celebrated parcel that is often included in the Grange blend. It is a classic Kalimna, with its trademark red fruits and familial old worldliness.

Completing fermentation in barrel and ageing for 16 months in 55% new French oak hogsheads deliver a wine that is at once viscous, velvety and voluminous.

Black with a purple rim, Penfolds Bin 170 Kalimna Shiraz has been described as a 'tannin tsunami'. Cellaring potential is 30 years.
