Joseph Ernst Seppelt settled in the Barossa Valley with his family in 1851 and established the vineyards. After languishing under corporate control, in 2013 Warren Randall, former Seppelt Great Western winemaker, acquired majority ownership.
The Seppeltsfield vineyards stretch across the western ridge of the Barossa Valley. At the heart of Seppeltsfield is their unique fortified Centennial Cellar. Begun by Oscar Benno Seppelt in memory of his father, every year since 1878 they have laid down a barrel of their finest wine with instructions that it not be bottled for 100 years. It is now the world's oldest unbroken lineage of single vintage wines each still in barrel.
Seppeltsfield is one of Australia's iconic wine estates. The Para Tawny Series showcases blended and single vineyard Tawnies, while the Paramount Collection comprises premium releases of Tokay, Muscat, Apera and Flor Apera.
