Wine

Seppeltsfield Para Liqueur Tawny was first produced in 1953 when parcels of outstanding old wines – dating as far back as 1922 – were blended to create the inaugural release.

Since the bottling of the 1976 vintage in 2004, it has become a proudly single vintage wine. Today, as it has been from the beginning, only the finest fortified parcels are deserving of the Para Liqueur label.

The wine is comprised of the Barossa’s signature varieties Shiraz, Grenache and Mourvèdre, aged for many years in small oak barrels in warm cellaring conditions.

Storage plays a crucial role in developing this style of wine. The warm environment exacerbates evaporation, which continually concentrates the flavour, aroma and viscosity of the wine as it matures.

Deep mahogany in colour, Seppeltsfield Para Liqueur Tawny is complex and generous, yet maintains a delicate balance of sweetness, a silky texture and savoury freshness.

It has all the hallmarks of great Australian Tawny. Its unique bell shaped bottle is iconic.
