Wine

Seppeltsfield DP38 Rich Rare Apera is a fortified wine made in the style of Spain's Oloroso sherries. It is a blend of estate grown Palomino and Grenache.

Each variety is initially kept separate. Only the very first cut of free run juice is taken for fermentation. The wine is then fortified with a neutral spirit.

Parcels of wine with sweeter fruit flavours are judiciously blended with more savoury parcels before being sent to the winery's Solero nurseries to mature for an average of 18 years.

Seppeltsfield's Solero nurseries are inspired by the Spanish and Portuguese system of fractional blending. Younger wines are blended with old to ensure consistency in style and quality.

Deep amber, Seppeltsfield DP38 Rich Rare Apera is rich, sweet wine with ripe marmalade and stone fruit flavours balanced by a dry finish.

Having completed its ageing in barrel, it is ready to drink on release.
