Great Terraced Vineyard Grenache
Wine
Seppeltsfield Great Terraced Vineyard Grenache is a single site wine, sourced from the contoured rows of the iconic Great Terraced Vineyard in the Barossa Valley.
Bush vine Grenache grows on the highly prized outcrop of ironstone, quartz and slate soils. Without trellising, the vines must be pruned and harvested entirely by hand.
Traditionally Grenache from this site was used in fortified wines. For this wine, the grapes are fermented in Seppeltsfield's historic 1888 Gravity Cellar. Gravity guides the fruit down through the winery to gently extract colour, flavour and tannins.
The wine then matures in well seasoned French oak foudre (vats) and puncheons for up to nine months.
Bright ruby, Seppeltsfield Great Terraced Vineyard Grenache is enticing and savoury with spicy berry characters and minerality. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
