Winery
While head winemaker at Feathertop in Porepunkah, Jo Marsh fell in love with Victoria's Alpine Valleys. In 2014 she founded Billy Button, naming it after the native alpine daisies that colour the mountainsides bright yellow in summer.
Billy Button work with dedicated local growers, drawing on their wealth of established Alpine Valley vineyards to secure quality fruit. The region is characterized by sunny days, fertile soils, high rainfall and cool nights, providing slow ripening for the grapes resulting in fruit intense wines with high natural acidity. These conditions are the perfect playground for Jo's passion: alternative and unusual varieties.
These lead the pack at Billy Button. The Clandestine Schioppettino and The Affable Barbera stand out amongst the reds, and The Mysterious Malvasia and The Groovy GrĂ¼ner Veltliner amongst the whites.
