Winery
In 2007 Dandelion Vineyards was born out of a partnership between Zar and Elena Brooks with the Lindner and Rey families. Having been a winemaker in Spain, Italy, Bulgaria and Australia, Bulgarian born Elena Brooks leads the winemaking.
Dandelion's biodynamic Firehawk Farm at McLaren Vale, perched atop an ancient ridge of limestone and ironstone, is planted to Shiraz, Grenache and Petite Sirah. They also draw from old vine vineyards in the Adelaide Hills, Eden Valley, Barossa Valley and Fleurieu Peninsula. At the winery they nurture each site's unique character, even separating individual soil types vine by vine if need be. In 2022 they opened their cellar door at Firehawk Farm.
Dandelion Vineyards is dedicated to single vineyard wines that speak of their site. The Red Queen of the Eden Valley Shiraz leads their reds, while Wonderland of the Eden Valley Riesling leads their whites.
