Faraway Tree of McLaren Vale Grenache
Wine
Dandelion Vineyards Faraway Tree of McLaren Vale Grenache is grown at Firehawk Farm, a biodynamic vineyard perched atop an ancient ridge overlooking the Willunga escarpment and Gulf St Vincent.
Selected bunches are handpicked. Then half are placed as whole bunches into open fermenters with the remainder gently crushed on top.
After 10 days of fermentation, the wine is basket pressed to French oak barrels, one third new. There it matures for 18 months, seeing little winemaking artifice to capture the essence of the vineyard in the bottle.
Bright red purple, Dandelion Vineyards Faraway Tree of McLaren Vale Grenache has deft fruit flavours balanced by acidity and soft yet persistent tannins. Cellaring potential is seven years.
