Lioness of McLaren Vale Shiraz
Wine
Dandelion Vineyards Lioness of McLaren Vale Shiraz is sourced from Angus and Helen Tuck's vineyard at Bakers Gully in the foothills of McLaren Vale.
The mature Shiraz vines grow in ironstone and pebble laden clay loams over ancient Kurrajong Formation geology, which forces the vines to either 'populate or perish'. All the fruit is hand harvested.
The grapes are left as whole bunches, fermented together in hand plunged open fermenters with ambient yeasts. After nearly two weeks, the wine is basket pressed to French oak barrels to mature for 18 months.
Deep plum purple, Dandelion Vineyards Lioness of McLaren Vale Shiraz has a savoury profile with round, drying tannins and a long finish. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
