Winery
Founded in 1978 by Brian Stonier at Merricks, Stonier was one of the Mornington Peninsula's first wineries. In 1991, their new winery and cellar door were completed, designed by Melbourne architect Daryl Jackson.
Brian Stonier planted Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, the varieties by which the winery and now the region are known. At the heart of Stonier lies a meticulous approach to viticulture, a desire to reflect the imprint of each vineyard site. Adjacent to the winery are the KBS, Family and Windmill vineyards, with the Lyncroft and Merron's vineyards nearby. By hand tending each vineyard, Stonier makes considered decisions about which fruit to allocate to each wine.
Stonier is among Australia's leading Pinot Noir and Chardonnay producers. The KBS, Windmill and Family single vineyard wines lead their range. Their Reserve range represents the best of their other Mornington Peninsula vineyards.
