Stonier Family Vineyard Pinot Noir
Wine
Stonier Family Vineyard Pinot Noir draws from the winery's very first Pinot Noir vineyard, planted in 1982. It is also one of the oldest Pinot Noir vineyards on the Mornington Peninsula.
Hidden in a little nook a stone's throw from the cellar door, Stonier Family Vineyard is planted to MV6 clone Pinot Noir in silt and clay, 60 metres above sea level. Its cool maritime climate brings the variety to life.
Fermentation is typically with both wild and cultured yeast. After maturing in French oak barrels, the parcels are blended and aged further in oak. It is made only in tiny amounts, only in the best years.
Deep red purple, Stonier Family Vineyard Pinot Noir is fruit driven with distinct bay leaf character. It finishes long and powerful. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
