Reserve Pinot Noir
Wine
Stonier Reserve Pinot Noir is a blend of the estate's top Pinot Noir, drawn from vineyards across the southern half of the Mornington Peninsula.
Fruit is typically selected from the Windmill, Merron's, Lyncroft, Gainsborough Park and Stonier Family Vineyards.
Each site is handpicked and small batch open fermented separately, receiving daily hand plunging. A small portion of the grapes ferment as whole bunches. Extended maceration on skins follows.
Malolactic fermentation and 10 months of preliminary maturation occur in one third new French oak barrels. Select parcels from each vineyard are then blended and returned to the same barrels to age further.
Cherry red, Stonier Reserve Pinot Noir has generous savoury tannins, with deep red and blue fruit flavours. Cellaring potential is seven years.
