Merron's Vineyard Pinot Noir
Wine
Stonier Merron's Vineyard Pinot Noir is part of the winery's Single Vineyard range, which gives a voice to distinctive parcels of outstanding fruit.
This wine gives Merron's Vineyard the spotlight. Located at the heart of Red Hill on the Mornington Peninsula, the site is Stonier's coolest and most elevated Pinot Noir vineyard.
The fruit is handpicked and cooled overnight, then destemmed into open fermenters. After several days of cold soaking, it is fermented with daily pump overs and occasional hand plunging.
The wine is gently pressed to French oak barrels, a small portion new, where it matures for six months. After blending, it is returned to the same barrels to age further.
Bright crimson, Stonier Merron's Vineyard Pinot Noir has vibrant red fruit flavours and strong tannins. Cellaring potential is seven years.
