Sandalford had its genesis in 1840, when John Septimus Roe planted some of West Australia's first vines on his property at Caversham, Swan Valley. In 1990 the Prendiville family acquired Sandalford and revitalized the brand.
Alongside the Swan Valley vineyard, Sandalford own one of the largest and oldest vineyards in Margaret River, planted in 1970. With generous winter rainfall, frost free spring, subdued summer temperatures and well drained loamy soils, it is now the main source for their wines. Sandalford employ sustainable practices across both their vineyards, and in the winery they use traditional methods and small batches.
The Prendiville Reserve range, only produced in the best vintages, features a Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. The 1840s and Estate Reserve wines follow at the next tiers.
