Prendiville Reserve Shiraz

Sandalford Prendiville Reserve Shiraz is sourced from the finest and oldest Shiraz blocks at the winery's Wilyabrup estate vineyard. First planted in 1972, vines are among Margaret River's oldest.

The grapes are handpicked at optimal ripeness into small bins. At the winery, they are crushed into small batch open fermenters and inoculated with a selected yeast strain.

During fermentation twice daily pump overs extract colour, flavour and tannins. Malolactic fermentation follows. The wine is then aged for 12 months in predominantly new French oak barrels, the remainder one year old.

Only the best barrels are set aside for the final blend. It is produced only in exceptional years and each bottle is individually numbered.

Dark cherry red, Sandalford Prendiville Reserve Shiraz shows a full spectrum of berry flavours with savoury spices, silky tannins and a long finish. Cellaring potential is 15 years.
