In 1972 David Wynn pioneered cool climate viticulture in Australia with the establishment of Mountadam in the Eden Valley. In 2005, having languished under corporate ownership, Mountadam was purchased by David and Jenni Brown.

At 550 metres altitude, Mountadam is the highest vineyard in the Eden Valley. The cool climate means a long ripening period and high natural acidity in the grapes. Their vineyard's undulating terrain and ancient rocky soils are home to Australia's oldest cool climate Chardonnay vines, as well as Riesling, Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. Mountadam are keenly focused on sustainability, while minimal intervention prevails in the winery.

Highlights of Mountadam's leading High Eden range include the Chardonnay, Patriarch Shiraz and The Red, a Cabernet Merlot blend. Their Eden Valley range follows, featuring a Riesling and Pinot Gris.
