TarraWarra Estate was founded by Marc and Eva Besen in 1983. Everything about TarraWarra Estate is exceptional; quality not cost takes precedence. The adjacent Museum of Art opened in 2000.
The vineyard sits on a north facing hillside comprising 19 blocks. TarraWarra Estate is renowned for their Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. There are single block plantings of Merlot, Shiraz, Marsanne, Roussanne and Viognier. New varietals like Nebbiolo and Barbera, carefully matched to the microclimates of each block, have also been planted. With an emphasis on innovation and sustainable vineyard practice, all wines are meticulously grown, handpicked, vinified and aged on the estate.
TarraWarra Estate is one of Australia's great wine estates. There are four ranges: the MDB label made in tiny quantities and only in optimal vintages; a Reserve range; the Single Vineyard range; and the Estate range.
