Wine
TarraWarra Estate South Block Chardonnay is made with Mendoza clone Chardonnay from the South Block, planted in 2002 on the winery's Yarra Valley property.
This block is TarraWarra's only south facing site. Its aspect means that the fruit tends to ripen later than other Chardonnay blocks.
The fruit is whole bunch pressed. Its juice is racked directly to barrel, where it ferments naturally without any addition of yeast or acid. The wine then matures in French oak before crossflow filtration and bottling.
Light yellow, TarraWarra Estate South Block Chardonnay has long, fine flavours of citrus and oak with linear acidity. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
