MDB Pinot Noir
Wine
TarraWarra Estate MDB Pinot Noir is made from 1980s H Block plantings on north facing slopes. The MDB wines are the flagships, named after Marc and Daniel Besen, the founder of TarraWarra Estate and his son.
H Block is the backbone of the winery's premium Pinot Noir, consistently producing outstanding fruit. The soil is naturally low yielding, which results in optimum vine balance. The fruit is handpicked from only 13 rows.
The wine matures for 10 months in 25% new French oak barriques, and a mixture of 1-2 year old barriques and puncheons. Only a few barrels are selected for bottling under the MDB label.
Dark crimson, TarraWarra Estate MDB Pinot Noir has depth, balance and refined elegance. Made only in exceptional years. Cellaring potential is 12 years.
