Wine
TarraWarra Estate Chardonnay is selected from several blocks, some planted in the 1980s. On high sloping hillsides with a northerly aspect the blocks have good drainage and air circulation.
The grapes are whole bunch pressed. Natural yeast fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with no acid addition. The wine is then racked to new and seasoned French oak, deriving texture from 10 months on lees.
Made the same way as the Reserve wine, the estate Chardonnay is produced from a different selection of fruit parcels and barrel combinations.
Straw green, TarraWarra Estate Chardonnay displays fresh fruit clarity, a judicious engagement of oak and a long finish. Cellaring potential is five years.
