Winery
Jim and Helen Watts purchased their McLaren Vale property in 1984 and released the first Fox Creek wines in 1996. In 2021 long-time industry friends Ben Gibson, Jock Harvey and Dim Georgiadis purchased Fox Creek.
Near Willunga, and just seven kilometres from the sea, Fox Creek has a Mediterranean climate with a marked maritime influence. They specialize in red varieties, particularly Shiraz but also Grenache and alternative varieties. While most of their fruit comes from their own vineyards, they also source across McLaren Vale. Blending fruit from different sources, they create distinct tannin and flavour profiles. In the winery they fuse the latest technology with traditional techniques.
Fox Creek's lead wine is their Reserve Shiraz. Other highlights include their Old Vine Shiraz and Limited Release Grenache. They release their more affordable wines under the Custodians and Family labels.
