Winery
William Dong purchased Handpicked Wines in 2003 with the vision of creating great wines from many great regions all under the one label. Their upmarket urban cellar doors in Sydney and Melbourne are one stop shops for the business.
Handpicked Wines excels at what they call 'the art of curation', the sourcing of grapes from distinguished regional sites. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are a focus. Their lead Capella Vineyard and winery is on the Mornington Peninsula, and their Wombat Creek Vineyard is the most elevated in the Yarra Valley. As well as their Victorian vineyards winemaker Peter Dillon also oversees vineyards in the Barossa Valley, Margaret River and Tasmania.
Handpicked Wines's Capella and Wombat Creek Vineyard Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are both outstanding. As well as their Australian operations Handpicked Wines have vineyards in New Zealand, Chile, Italy and France.
