Capella Vineyard Chardonnay

Handpicked Wines Capella Vineyard Chardonnay is made from Mendoza and P58 clones grown near the shores of Western Port Bay on the cool climate Mornington Peninsula.

Planted in 2008 the Capella Vineyard is entirely hand pruned. Soils are grey clay loam and the vineyard enjoys the maritime influence of Western Port, Port Phillip Bay and Bass Strait.

The grapes are refrigerated overnight and whole bunch pressed next day. The juice is settled in tank then transferred to French oak for wild yeast fermentation. A portion undergoes malolactic fermentation.

The wine matures for 10 months in the same French oak barrels. It is made only in the best vintages.

Straw yellow, Handpicked Wines Capella Vineyard Chardonnay has vibrant citrus flavours, creamy complexity and finely balanced acidity. Cellaring potential is seven years.
