At the Winery
Winery
In 2010 Paul 'Bear' Dahlenburg and Lauretta 'Laurie' Schulz established Eldorado Road between Beechworth and Wangaratta near the gold rush hamlet of Eldorado. Soon after, they also leased a historic Shiraz vineyard in nearby Glenrowan.
Eldorado Road's vineyards in the Beechworth foothills are sited on a seam of free draining, red decomposed granite, fed by Reedy Creek which weaves through the property. Their geography and cool location are ideal for the Sicilian variety Nero d'Avola and distinct examples of Durif. They have painstakingly rejuvenated their leased 1890s Shiraz vines. With a passion for red varieties and old vines, at the winery they believe less is more.
Eldorado Road's signature style is bright fruit flavours, lifted perfumes and elegant intensity. Highlights are their Perseverance Old Vine Shiraz, Riserva Nero d'Avola and Onyx Durif.
