Eldorado Road Riserva Nero d'Avola draws from a small section of the estate vineyard between Beechworth and Wangaratta in north-east Victoria.
The winery planted Nero d'Avola on the advice of Allesio Planeta, a revered producer from Sicily. The climate and geography are ideally matched to the variety.
All the fruit is whole bunch fermented, then left on skins for a fortnight. Once basket pressed the wine matures in seasoned French oak puncheons. A single barrel that stands out as exceptional is chosen for bottling.
Dark crimson, Eldorado Road Riserva Nero d'Avola has lush, spicy dark fruit flavours and a long finish. Cellaring potential is five years.
