The Henschke family have been making wine since Silesian migrant Johann Christian Henschke planted a small vineyard on his Keyneton farm in 1862. Fifth generation winemaker Stephen Henschke and viticulturist wife Prue took charge in 1979.

In 1891 Johann Christian's son Paul Gotthard Henschke bought some land near the Gnadenberg Church. That land is now known as the Hill of Grace vineyard. Henschke's red wines take full advantage of the old, low yielding vines they come from. As well as the Eden Valley vineyard Henschke now make wine from vineyards in the Barossa Valley and Adelaide Hills. The cooler climate Lenswood vineyards in the Adelaide Hills have taken Henschke into white winemaking.

The Henschke name is built on family and tradition as old as its vines. Their flagship Hill of Grace Shiraz ranks alongside Grange at the pinnacle of Australian winemaking. A string of Henschke highlights follow on behind.
