Wine
Henschke Cyril Henschke Cabernet Sauvignon is grown in the Henschke Eden Valley vineyard located just east of the Barossa Valley in the cooler part of the Mount Lofty Ranges.
It is a tribute to one of Australia's outstanding winemakers, Stephen Henschke's father Cyril, who planted the vines in the 1960s.
The Henschke vineyards are cultivated according to biodynamic principles. Cabernet Sauvignon makes up the dominant component of the wine, with a small amount of Cabernet Franc added prior to bottling.
The wine sees 18 months of maturation in new and seasoned French oak hogsheads prior to blending and bottling.
Deep crimson, Henschke Cyril Henschke Cabernet Sauvignon has dark fruit flavours, layered tannins, hints of spice and an elegant threaded acidity.
An outstanding Cabernet. Cellaring potential is 25 years.
