Wine

Henschke Julius Riesling is named in honour of Stephen Henschke's great uncle Julius Henschke, an acclaimed artist and sculptor in the family.

The vines were planted by Cyril Henschke in the Eden Valley in 1966, when the variety was uncommon in the Australian wine industry.

Cultivated biodynamically, the vines grow on sandy loam over gravel and bedrock with patches of clay, thriving in the Eden Valley's cool climate. The Eden Valley has ideal ripening conditions for the Riesling grape.

Following an early harvest, the grapes wild ferment in tank and are bottled soon after vintage to preserve their delicate fruit character.

Pale straw, Henschke Julius Riesling has ripe citrus flavours, tight zesty acidity and a long, dry finish. Cellaring potential is 12 years.
