Hugh and Molly Lloyd established Coriole in 1967, purchasing a Shiraz vineyard planted shortly after the First World War. Their sons Mark and Paul followed in their footsteps, and today third generation Lloyds Duncan and Peter are at the helm.
Coriole overlooks the Willunga Range and Fleurieu Bight at McLaren Vale, just within sight of the sea. Shiraz is the most significant variety by area; however, under Mark Lloyd Coriole became pioneers in emerging varieties Sangiovese, Fiano and Piquepoul. They own or manage most of the vineyards that provide their grapes, tying wine quality to how each block is managed. At the winery Coriole follow traditional winemaking practices.
Coriole's leading Lloyd Reserve Shiraz is made from the original Shiraz plantings. Other Reserve range highlights include Vita Sangiovese and Rubiato Fiano. The New Australian Collection features their alternative varieties.
