At the Winery
Winery
In 2002 Brian and Ann Croser established Tapanappa with investment partners after the sale of their Petaluma winery. With daughter Lucy Croser and son-in-law Xavier Bizot, today Tapanappa is wholly owned and run by the Croser family.
Tapanappa owns three distinguished sites: Tiers Vineyard, planted with Chardonnay in the Piccadilly Valley in the Adelaide Hills in 1979; Whalebone Vineyard, planted with Cabernet varieties in Wrattonbully in 1974; and Foggy Hill Vineyard, planted with Pinot Noir on the Fleurieu Peninsula in 2003. Tapanappa fastidiously invests in improving the vineyards. They plant new vines in the close spaced European tradition as well as restructure and replant older vines. Quality not cost takes precedence.
Tapanappa's wines are made in small quantities. The finest are their single vineyard selections Whalebone Vineyard Merlot Cabernet Franc, Tiers Vineyard Chardonnay and Foggy Hill Pinot Noir.
