Eden Valley Riesling
Wine
Tapanappa Eden Valley Riesling is grown in the Bartholomeus Vineyard in the Eden Valley. The fruit is handpicked and delivered to Tapanappa's Piccadilly Valley winery.
The grapes are destemmed, roller crushed and chilled on the way to the airbag press. Some of the stalks are added back to the mixture to help rapidly drain the juice.
The cold free run juice is augmented by the first light pressing fraction of juice, then clarified. The clear juice is racked and warmed to tank where it sees three months of cool fermentation with a selected yeast.
Post ferment, the wine is chilled to -2°C. This settles the yeast and cold stabilizes the wine. It is racked and bottled after one month of settling.
A green gold hue, Tapanappa Eden Valley Riesling is fine and delicate with lingering fruit sweetness and mouth watering acidity. Cellaring potential is seven years.
