Winery
Sidewood was founded in 2004 by Owen and Cassandra Inglis, fulfilling their dream of establishing a vineyard alongside their horse breeding property in the Adelaide Hills. In 2016 Sidewood became the largest sustainable winery in the region.
Sidewood has vineyards in Echunga, Nairne and Verdun. The original Oakbank vineyard is in the Onkaparinga Valley at 380 metres above sea level. The vineyards are planted to Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. Sidewood follows an extensive vine management regime. The cool, dry ripening conditions produce grapes with ideal fruit concentration and natural acidity. Climate, soil and an unwavering focus on sustainable viticulture ensure that only the best fruit is grown.
Sidewood's flagship Mappinga range, which includes a Chardonnay and Fumé Blanc, is led by Mappinga Shiraz. Other highlights include Owen's Chardonnay and 777 Pinot Noir, followed by the Estate and Stablemate ranges.
