Owen's Chardonnay
Wine
Sidewood Owen's Chardonnay is made from low yield grapes grown in a single estate vineyard 380 metres above sea level in the cool climate Adelaide Hills.
Named after owner Owen Inglis, it is made with Mendoza clone grapes.
Only the best parcels are selected. The grapes are wild yeast fermented with whole berries and some whole bunch inclusion. Malolactic fermentation is partial.
The wine matures in French oak barrels for 10 months. Production is limited.
Light straw, Sidewood Owen's Chardonnay balances vibrant acidity, citrus fruit flavours and a sleek mineral backbone. Cellaring potential is five years.
