Mappinga Shiraz
Wine
Sidewood Mappinga Shiraz is grown in the estate Mappinga Road Vineyard in the cool climate Adelaide Hills. The vineyard rows are planted east-west to maximize the intensity of the fruit flavour.
Select bunches are handpicked early in the morning at perfect ripeness and sorted at the winery. Most are gently pressed into open top fermentation tanks, with a portion added as whole bunches.
The juice is kept as cool as possible. After fermentation the wine matures in one third new French oak barriques. The best barrels are chosen for the final blend. It is made only in exceptional vintages.
Deep purple crimson, Sidewood Mappinga Shiraz is luscious and full bodied. It has lifted aromas, red berry flavours, bright acidity and a lasting finish. Cellaring potential is 12 years.
