Seeking the best terrain for making cool climate wines, ex-geologists Phil and Viv Snowden established Singlefile in Denmark, Western Australia in 2007. Their daughter Pam and son-in-law Patrick have now made it a multi-generational business.
Singlefile, named after the property's resident geese and their daily parade at dusk, focuses on producing Chardonnay from their home vineyard in Denmark's Scotsdale Valley. The rich karri loam soils and gentle undulations of the vineyard, along with ample rainfall, produce premium cool climate Chardonnay. The winery carefully selects their other varietals from nearby Frankland River and Porongurup. For Singlefile a 'less is more' approach prevails, allowing grapes to develop with minimal intervention.
From Singlefile's Limited Release Collection The Vivienne Chardonnay and The Philip Adrian Cabernet Sauvignon lead. They are made only in outstanding vintages. Also of note is the Family Reserve Chardonnay.
