At the Winery
Winery
Formerly a dairy farm, Hay Shed Hill in Margaret River was first planted to vines in 1973. The business changed hands several times before winemaker Mike Kerrigan and partners purchased the winery in 2006.
Just five kilometres from the Indian Ocean, Hay Shed Hill enjoys conditions akin to Bordeaux, with dry summers and the maritime influence ensuring mild temperatures. The undulating vineyard allows their north facing Cabernet Sauvignon to enjoy the full face of the sun, while their south facing Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc are protected from the heat. At Hay Shed Hill most of their vineyard is dry grown, producing small yields of quality fruit.
Hay Shed Hill's Block series leads, made from the best individual patches in the vineyard. Block 2 Cabernet Sauvignon and Block 6 Chardonnay are the highlights. The Vineyard series is the next level down.
