Bimbadgen was established in 1968 and acquired by the Lee family in the late 1990s. Its striking bell tower has commanding Hunter Valley views, fittingly since Bimbadgen means 'place of good view' in the local Indigenous language.
Bimbadgen's Palmers Lane and McDonalds Road Vineyards in Pokolbin are sought after sources of old vine Semillon, Shiraz and Chardonnay. The red volcanic soils along the crest of the valley are perfect for Shiraz, while Semillon thrives on the sandy loam of the valley floor. The soil profile can quickly change, allowing Bimbadgen to make wines that not only express the character of their vineyards, but of the blocks within.
Bimbadgen's lead wines are in its Signature range, selected from only the best parcels. For their Single Vineyard range Bimbadgen draw on the distinctive attributes of each block and vineyard.
