Winery
The Gosatti family established Arlewood Estate at Wilyabrup in 1984. In 2009 Garry Gosatti purchased and restored a derelict vineyard planted by Xanadu's Jurg Muggli, relocating Arlewood Estate to the more southern, cooler climate of Forest Grove.
The Arlewood Estate approach to making wine is immersion in the vineyard. It stems from an intricate understanding and feel for what works. They apply minimal synthetic inputs and practise sustainable viticulture, with their flock of sheep controlling the weeds and guinea fowl removing pests from the natural habitat. Varieties include Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, managed with experience accumulated over many years making wine in Margaret River.
Arlewood Estate's lead La Bratta range is inspired by the village of La Bratta in northern Italy where the Gosatti family once grew grapes. Their Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon are highlights.
