Chardonnay

Arlewood Estate Chardonnay is made with Gin Gin clone fruit from the estate vineyard at Forest Grove, located on the cooler south side of Margaret River.

The grapes are handpicked from two blocks: one on the vineyard's eastern boundary, the other on the western. Both parcels are vinified separately.

After gentle whole bunch pressing and light settling, the juice is transferred to new and seasoned French oak for fermentation. Several different yeasts are used, producing complexity and texture.

The wine matures in barrel on lees for 10 months with monthly stirring. There is typically only partial malolactic fermentation, or none at all.

Light yellow, Arlewood Estate Chardonnay is precise and textural, with intense citrus, subtle stone fruits and fine oak. Cellaring potential is five years.
