With a family grape growing heritage over several generations, in 1996 John and Diana Harvey set in motion a new venture and established Chalk Hill. Today the winery is in the hands of their sons, Tom and Jock.

Chalk Hill wines are primarily sourced from family owned vineyards across McLaren Vale, as well as their own organic vineyard planted in 1969. McLaren Vale's array of soils and topographies allows Chalk Hill to match varieties to their ideal conditions, making the most of the Mediterranean climate of cool, wet winters and warm, dry summers. In the hands of the Harvey family's well practiced viticultural skills, the wines display distinct regional character.

The Alpha Crucis range is at the top tier. The Winemakers Series invites leading winemakers to produce wine with fruit from Chalk Hill's organic vineyard. The Luna wines are the most affordable.
