Wine
Chalk Hill Luna Shiraz is sourced from three premium estate vineyards in McLaren Vale, all containing mature vines. It is predominately Shiraz with a small inclusion of Barbera.
The Shiraz is harvested at flavour and tannin ripeness. It is destemmed carefully, keeping as many whole berries in the ferment as possible to maintain fresh fruit flavours and soft tannins. The wine is aged in barrel.
The Barbera component is treated similarly, except it spends up to two weeks on skins and is matured in older barrels.
Deep red purple, Chalk Hill Luna Shiraz is a medium to full bodied wine, vibrant and fruit driven with spice and a lingering finish. Cellaring potential is five years.
