Alpha Crucis Syrah

Chalk Hill Alpha Crucis Syrah is McLaren Vale Shiraz in a cool climate style, released only in years that satisfy the winery's uncompromising quality standards.

A quarter of the fruit is kept as whole bunches. After fermentation with wild yeasts the wine is transferred to French oak to age. Most of the barrels are seasoned not new, ensuring the fruit is the dominant flavour, not the oak.

Bright red, Chalk Hill Alpha Crucis Syrah has red and dark fruit flavours with waves of fine, chalky tannins. Cellaring potential is eight years.
