At the Winery
Winery
In 1999 at the age of 19 Chris Davies planted Windows Estate's first vines. The winery is small and family, with Chris and wife Jo involved in all facets of the winemaking, from the grape to the bottle.
Acknowledging the influence the nearby Indian Ocean has in producing the wines, the name 'Windows' is taken from a local surf break. The vineyard has a unique soil composition, the result of two natural springs that rise on the property. It is planted to the key Margaret River varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Semillon, among others. Sustainability is a key focus. The vines are meticulously cared for and dry block grown.
At Windows Estate, it’s all in the viticulture, translating what the vineyard makes into the bottle. The La Fenêtre wines, made only in outstanding vintages, lead. The Petit Lot series is close behind.
