At the Winery

Inspired by his family's rural heritage, Bob Fowler with wife Marilyn purchased the former West Cape Howe winery, establishing Willoughby Park in 2010. The following year they expanded their operations, purchasing their Kalgan River Vineyard.
Located at the eastern end of Porongurup National Park in Albany, the Kalgan River Vineyard is the main source of the winery's grapes. With a maritime climate, it is a small vineyard a long way from anywhere. It is dry grown and planted to the Great Southern's proven varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Shiraz and Riesling. They also source fruit from growers in nearby Mount Barker and Frankland River.
Willoughby Park's lead Ironrock wines are named after the rocky beds in which their old vines grow and flourish. The Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz are top of the range, with the Kalgan River range sitting behind.
