Willoughby Park Kalgan River Shiraz is made with estate grown grapes from the cool climate Kalgan River Vineyard at Albany in the Great Southern region.

The fruit is destemmed and crushed into static fermenters for cold soaking. During fermentation the wine is pumped over with aeration twice a day. The temperature is kept at 25°C to avoid the over extraction of tannins.

Following pressing the wine is transferred to barrel for malolactic fermentation and 18 months of ageing.

Dark red, Willoughby Park Kalgan River Shiraz has fruit flavours overlaid by spicy, peppery notes and velvety tannin. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
