Winery
One of the first estates in Margaret River, Moss Wood was founded by Bill and Sandra Pannell in 1969. Keith and Clare Mugford purchased Moss Wood in 1985. In an era of corporatization they manage it as a small family run business.
Influenced by agronomist Dr John Gladstones, Moss Wood was located by Bill Pannell after six months searching for the ideal site for a vineyard. Moss Wood's Estate and Ribbon Vale vineyards grow in Wilyabrup's gravelly loam over clay subsoils. The Glenmore Amy's Vineyard lies further north in Yallingup. Moss Wood has a culture of experimentation driven by their viticultural pursuit of excellence. Soil and vine performance receive particular attention.
Moss Wood's flagship Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay are exceptional examples of the varieties for which Margaret River is renowned. The Ribbon Vale and Amy's Vineyard ranges are made without blending fruit between vineyards.
