At the Winery
Winery
Amidst the Australian wine grape surplus in the early 1980s, Peter Lehmann founded his winery to support local growers. After Peter's passing in 2013 Casella Family Brands acquired the property, securing family rather than corporate ownership.
Peter Lehmann sources grapes from a large number of growers in the Barossa and Eden Valleys. Most are small in scale and many have supplied Peter Lehmann for decades. Before vintage winemaker Andrew Wigan joins the growers in their vineyards to select parcels of fruit. The winery is designed for individual batches. Small batch winemaking is employed to underscore the character of each parcel's single vineyard origin.
Peter Lehmann's flagship is the Stonewell Shiraz. Other highlights include their VSV (Very Special Vineyard) wines and Wigan Riesling. With a prolific range they produce wines under eight other labels, including the District series made from single sites.
