Black Queen Sparkling Shiraz
Wine
Peter Lehmann Black Queen Sparkling Shiraz is sourced from mature, low yielding Barossa Valley vineyards. It is made in the uniquely Australian style of sparkling Shiraz, first developed in the late 1800s.
The grapes are fermented on skins for up to 10 days prior to pressing and clarification. After 12 months in seasoned French oak hogsheads, the base wine is bottled for secondary fermentation.
The wine ages on its yeast lees for five years before the lees are removed. A small portion of estate made vintage fortified wine is added to build complexity.
Deep red purple, Peter Lehmann Black Queen Sparkling Shiraz has rich blue fruit flavours and Christmas cake spices. It is naturally low in tannins with a long, savoury finish.
Perfect for celebrations. Serve well chilled. Cellaring potential is five years.
