Winery

The d'Anna family founded Hoddles Creek Estate in 1997 having purchased the property in 1960 as a weekend getaway. Today the winery is run by son Franco d'Anna, who helped his parents plant the vines, but never left.

The vineyard sits adjacent to Hoddles Creek in the Upper Yarra Valley. The site's steep slopes make mechanical harvesting impossible, so pruning and picking are by hand. The winery takes advantage of the slope by being split level. The fermenting tanks are at entry level and the barrel store is underground with the wine gravity fed. Hoddles Creek Estate draws on its Italian winemaking heritage with traditional, yet minimal intervention winemaking.

Single block selections PBS Pinot Noir, Syberia Chardonnay and 1er Pinot Noir lead Hoddles Creek Estate's range. Their estate range, which likewise includes Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, follows at the next tier.
